Al Qadsiah: Retegui Returns on a Bike
Italian striker Matteo Retegui of Al Qadsiah's first football team participated on Monday in the second day of the external camp in Girona, Spain, preparing for the new season which starts next month. According to a special source for Al-Riyadiyah, he started his training on Wednesday at the external camp two days before the arrival of his teammates. Retegui suffered a fracture in his ankle joint during the match against Al Shabab, which ended in a 1-1 draw last April, within the 29th round of the Saudi Roshn League, which kept him out until the end of the season, and subsequently underwent surgery in Spain and a rehabilitation period of about two months.…
Meanwhile, Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers, the team's coach, divided the training into two parts: the first included muscle strengthening exercises in the gym, in which all players participated, before everyone moved to riding bicycles for short distances as part of exercise variety. The Northern Irish coach aims to get the players to full readiness before the start of the season, which will include participation in local competitions and the AFC Champions League Elite. Al Qadsiah's camp in Girona continues until July 26, with international players joining the rest of their teammates later after the end of their scheduled rest period.
