Al-Qadsiah's first football team launched its external preparatory camp in the Spanish city of Girona with an evening training session, as part of the main phase of the preparation program for the 2026-2027 sports season, which begins next month, amid high expectations to continue strong performances and compete in various competitions.
The external camp is part of the technical staff's plan to raise the physical and technical readiness of the players and optimally prepare the team before entering a busy season, during which Al-Qadsiah will participate in four tournaments: the Saudi Roshn League, the Saudi Super Cup, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, and representing the Kingdom in the AFC Champions League Elite.
The first day of training saw the participation of Moroccan left-back Sufyan Al-Karouani, recently joined the team, while the technical staff focused during the session on fitness aspects through various physical exercises, along with some technical ball drills.
Team coach Brendan Rodgers confirmed that the choice of Girona came due to its excellent facilities that help the team implement its preparatory program, pointing out that the goal of the camp is to raise physical readiness, establish the style of play, and enhance harmony among the players, especially with the joining of new elements and the return of several players after the end of their loans.
Rodgers said in a statement: 'We aim during this phase to raise the physical readiness of the team to the highest possible level and build a strong foundation from which we will start throughout the season.'
Rodgers explained that the absence of some international players at the start of the camp will not affect the preparation program, stressing that they will join the team later after receiving adequate rest, while emphasizing that the team looks forward to a busy season in which it will participate in four tournaments and aims to compete and achieve the aspirations of its fans.
The team will continue its camp in Girona until July 26, while the international players will join the team later after their scheduled rest period, as Mexican striker Julian continues his participation in the World Cup before joining the team's preparations.
