Al Riyadh's management is close to signing a professional contract with Salman Al Faraj, former captain of Neom's first football team, according to a private source speaking to Al Riyadiya. The same source indicated that the two parties have reached a preliminary agreement to finalize the deal, with the contract duration set at one season. Al Riyadiya previously reported, citing its private source on July 2, that Al Faraj is undergoing a summer rehabilitation program at a private sports center in the capital Riyadh, preparing himself before signing with any club for the current season. The same source revealed that the veteran midfielder is not considering retirement after ending his contractual relationship with Neom, having received two professional offers from Al Diriyah and Al Faisaly to join one of them in the Saudi Roshn League next season. Neom announced last Monday the termination of its relationship with the 36-year-old midfielder, who spent two seasons with the northern club after arriving from Al Hilal, contributing to their promotion to the Saudi Roshn League. Al Faraj played 24 matches for Neom across all competitions, providing three assists, according to Transfermarkt, while an anterior cruciate ligament injury sidelined him for 388 days before his return last December. With Al Hilal, Salman played 388 matches in all competitions, scoring 25 goals and providing 39 assists, while with the Saudi Green he participated in 68 matches and scored eight goals.
