Al-Shabab puts Fabio Celestini among technical options to lead the team
Swiss coach Fabio Celestini has entered the radar of Al-Shabab club's management, which continues to study a number of coaching names in preparation for finalizing the technical director who will lead the team during the new sports season, as part of its endeavor to build a team capable of competing for local and continental championships.
Celestini is considered one of the coaches who have emerged in European football in recent years, after achieving notable successes in the Swiss league, where he led Basel to win the league and cup titles, before embarking on a new experience with Russian CSKA Moscow, adding the Super Cup title to his coaching record.
The Swiss coach, aged 50, has a philosophy based on defensive organization, positive possession, and high pressing. He has previously coached Lausanne, Lugano, Lucerne, and Sion, in addition to his career as an international player with the Swiss national team, where he also represented Marseille, Getafe, and Levante.
Al-Shabab's management seeks to select a coach with experience and the ability to return the team to strong competition, amid anticipation from fans for the outcome of negotiations in the coming days, as work continues on preparing the team for the new season.
