Al-Shabab club announced on Thursday through its official account on platform X that it has signed former Saudi international player Awad Al-Nashri for two seasons with a renewal option. This signing came after Al-Ittihad club ended its association with Al-Nashri at the end of last season. Al-Nashri (26 years old) had been with Al-Ittihad since his youth career, where he was promoted to the first team in the 2020 season, and participated in 80 matches totaling 2,782 minutes without scoring or assisting any goal. The player has 3 international matches with the Saudi national team, the most recent being his participation in the Gulf Cup 25 hosted by Iraq in 2023.

This signing comes as part of Al-Shabab's plan to strengthen its squad in preparation for the new season.

Al-Nashri hopes to prove himself with Al-Shabab after a goal-less career with Al-Ittihad. The move represents a new opportunity for the player to enhance his presence in the Saudi league. Al-Nashri is expected to add defensive options for the capital team in the upcoming season.
