AlUla Governorate in Saudi Arabia hosts several prominent equestrian tournaments, organized by the Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports, represented by the Saudi Equestrian Federation, most notably: 'Ministry of Sports Cup for Endurance Riding', 'AlFursan Cup for Endurance Riding', 'AlUla Desert Polo Championship', 'AlUla International Tent Pegging Championship', 'Shooting from Horseback Championship', and other specialized tournaments that attract hundreds of riders from within Saudi Arabia and abroad. AlUla has established its position as one of the most prominent horse riding tourism destinations in Saudi Arabia, benefiting from its cultural heritage spanning thousands of years. The Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate is working on developing a comprehensive infrastructure to support horse riding tourism, by creating dedicated horseback riding trails that extend across a number of natural and historical sites, along with walking and cycling paths, within an integrated system aimed at enhancing quality of life, enriching the visitor experience, and providing various means to explore the destination in sustainable ways, in harmony with the nature of AlUla and giving visitors a closer experience to its natural and cultural heritage.
