The management of Al-Ittihad Club offered $6 million to buy the contract of Egyptian Emam Ashour, midfielder of Cairo's Al-Ahly first football team, according to a source close to the player told Asharq Al-Awsat. The source indicated that Al-Ittihad opened negotiations with Al-Ahly of Egypt to discuss the possibility of signing Emam Ashour during the current transfer period, and made an initial offer worth $6 million to the club, along with an annual salary of up to $4 million for the player. Al-Ahly of Egypt rejected the offer, insisting on obtaining higher financial compensation, after signing the midfielder in July 2023 from Danish club Midtjylland for about $3 million, in addition to salaries over three seasons worth about another $3 million, bringing their total investment in the player to about $6 million. The sources added that Ashour currently receives an annual salary of $315,000. Marwan Attia came into Al-Ittihad's interest, after the start of negotiations with Emam Ashour, as the players' agent, who manages both files, presented his name to the western club to consider the possibility of signing him. Al-Ahly of Egypt received an offer worth $3.5 million to release Attia, along with an annual salary of $2.5 million for the player, while he currently receives about $257,000 with his club. According to the source, the chances of Attia leaving Al-Ahly of Egypt seem difficult during the current period, despite the offer made. It is noteworthy that Asharq Al-Awsat published on Sunday, citing its own sources, that the Egyptian internationals Marwan Attia and Emam Ashour, players of Al-Ahly, have entered the interest of the sports management at Al-Ittihad Club.
