The transfer of Khaled Al-Ghannam, Al-Ettifaq first football team player, to Al-Ittihad has witnessed new developments after Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ahli entered the negotiations, taking advantage of the Jeddah club's failure to finalize the deal so far, according to sources close to Al-Riyadiya. According to the same sources, Al-Qadsiah has expressed its desire to obtain Al-Ghannam's services, while Al-Ahli sent an inquiry to Al-Ettifaq about the player's status as it remains unresolved by the Jeddah club, after his player Abdul Ilah Hawsawi exited the swap deal, in addition to Al-Ghannam's request for additional benefits in the contract duration and financial matters. The Al-Ettifaq management had reached a preliminary agreement with its counterpart at Al-Ittihad, according to the same sources, stipulating Al-Ghannam's transfer to the Jeddah team for 30 million riyals, paid in one lump sum, with his former club Al-Nassr bearing its 25 percent share, equivalent to 11 million riyals, along with the loan of goalkeeper Hamed Al-Shanqiti to Al-Ettifaq with a clause allowing the permanent purchase of his contract if he performs at an outstanding level during the upcoming season. The same sources revealed that Al-Ghannam has given his initial approval to the idea of the transfer, but the final agreement between the two parties has not been reached yet, as negotiations continue over the financial aspects and ensuring sufficient playing time during the season. The Al-Ittihad management is working to reach an agreement with him and finalize his personal terms, in preparation for completing the deal procedures before other clubs enter. Al-Ghannam, 25, is under contract with Al-Ettifaq until June 30, 2028, and wore the 'Al-Nawakhidha' shirt in 20 matches last season, during which he scored 13 goals and provided seven assists, contributing to 20 goals.
