The goalkeeper deal concludes Al-Kholood's efforts to support their first football team with foreign players during the current transfer window, according to special sources told Al-Riyadiyah. The club contracted this summer with Spanish winger Copa Da Costa and Guinean midfielder Sidouba Cissé. According to the same sources, the administration seeks to finalize the new goalkeeper file, replacing Argentine Juan Pablo Cozzani, and the last of the eight foreigners after returning from the ongoing preparatory camp in Spain. The camp ends Wednesday, and the team will return directly afterwards to Riyadh to undergo the final stages of the preparation program before the start of the upcoming season. Cozzani returned to Argentina after one season with Al-Kholood, and the club aims to sign a foreigner for the same position, while it kept from last season's foreigners Surinamese defender Shaquille Pinas, Lithuanian defender Edgaras Utkus, English midfielder John Buckley, Spanish midfielder Iker Cortajarena, and Argentine striker Ramiro Enrique. Under the age limit, English midfielder Adam Berry and Guinean defender Mansour Camara continue. Al-Kholood, coached by Englishman Des Buckingham, faces English side Luton Town on Saturday in the third and final friendly match during their Spanish camp.
