English club Arsenal announced the departure of one of the team's pillars, who contributed significantly to the Gunners' winning the English Premier League title, a trophy that had been absent from the club's cabinets since the 2003-2004 season.

Arsenal confirmed the transfer of its Belgian international winger Leandro Trossard to Turkish club Beşiktaş, stating that the player has been granted the necessary permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo medical examinations ahead of completing the deal.

In the same context, Beşiktaş revealed in an official statement the arrival time of the Belgian star; his plane is scheduled to land at Atatürk International Airport at 7:30 PM local time, in order to finalize all legal procedures and sign his contract with the Turkish club.

Trossard's departure from the Premier League champions comes under a deal totaling £17 million, divided into an initial payment of £15.3 million, plus £1.7 million in the form of future performance-related incentives and add-ons, according to Sky Sports.

The Belgian winger had established himself as an indispensable element in the squad of Spanish manager Mikel Arteta since joining the Gunners; he played 174 matches for Arsenal over three and a half years, scoring 36 goals and providing many crucial assists for his teammates.

Trossard played a pivotal role in leading the Gunners to the Premier League title last season; he scored 8 goals and provided 11 assists in 50 matches across all competitions, in a historic season where the team also reached the Champions League final, finishing as runners-up.
