Arsenal signs Real Madrid goalkeeper
English club Arsenal announced on Wednesday the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez to represent the first football team, who captained Real Madrid last season, on a free transfer after six years with the Spanish team. Rodríguez has represented Spain in 24 matches and was part of the squad that won the 2023 Women's World Cup and the Women's Nations League the following year. Rodríguez (27 years old) played 215 matches for Real Madrid over six seasons. Rodríguez said: "I am very excited to join the team and take on this new challenge. I want to help them win titles." Arsenal, who finished last season in second place behind Manchester City, will begin their Premier League campaign when the competition starts in September.
