The President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, sent a message of praise to the Moroccan national team, following their farewell from the 2026 World Cup competitions in the quarter-finals after losing to France.

Infantino said in his message that the journey of the 'Atlas Lions' in the tournament 'was full of beautiful moments', stressing that the team succeeded in bringing immense joy to their football-passionate country.

The FIFA President added that 'the ten goals scored by the Moroccan national team during this edition, which is the highest scoring tally for Morocco in the history of its participation in a single World Cup, helped lead it to become the first African team in World Cup history to qualify for the quarter-finals in two different editions.'

Infantino expressed his pleasure in hosting the Moroccan delegation in the current tournament, and said: 'As always, it was a pleasure to welcome you, and we look forward to your hospitality for the tournament in 2030.'

The journey of the Moroccan national team in the 2026 World Cup, which was organized in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, stopped at the quarter-final stage, after a strong performance in the group stage and the round of 32 and round of 16.
