Abha Club signs goalkeepers Donovan Léon and Mustafa Malaka
Abha Club has finalized the signing of French goalkeeper Donovan Léon to bolster the first team's ranks ahead of their anticipated return to the Saudi Roshn League competition in the new season.
Léon joins Abha after spending years with French club Auxerre, where he played 252 matches in various competitions, gaining extensive experience in French stadiums.
The French goalkeeper conceded 288 goals during his time with Auxerre, while keeping clean sheets in 73 matches, leaving impressive numbers with the club.
Donovan Léon is expected to arrive at Abha's training camp in Slovenia in the coming hours to join the team's preparations for the new sports season.
Abha team resumed training on July 8, after the rest period following their title win in the Yellow League and promotion to the Roshn League.
Abha's delegation left for Slovenia on July 16 for a camp lasting until August 1, which includes four friendly matches as part of the preparation program.
Abha Club also officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Mustafa Malaka on a free transfer to strengthen the first football team's squad ahead of the new sports season.
The club posted a welcome message on its official account on platform 'X', saying: 'Long experience with great confidence... Mustafa Malaka is Abhawi... a thousand welcomes'.
Malaka has a long career in Saudi stadiums, starting with Al-Ansar in 2004, then representing Al-Ittihad, Hajer, Al-Faisaly, Al-Fateh, and Al-Shabab, while he played for Neom in last season's competitions.
The signing of the veteran goalkeeper comes as part of Abha's moves to strengthen its squad before the season starts, coinciding with the start of the external preparation phase, after the team delegation left on Thursday for Slovenia for a training camp that will last until the first of August.
