Al-Ittihad kicks off Spain camp friendlies with a treble against Orlando

Al-Ittihad's first team football club achieved a victory over its South African counterpart Orlando Pirates with a score of 3-2, on Tuesday, in the first friendly test of the team during its current camp in Marbella, Spain.

Al-Ittihad entered the match with a lineup consisting of Rajkovic, Danilo Pereira, Carlo Simic, Muath Faqihi, Mohannad Al-Shanqiti, Rakan Al-Kaabi, Hamed Al-Ghamdi, Abdulrahman Al-Abood, Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, Moussa Diaby, and Youssef Al-Nassiri.

Player Youssef Al-Nassiri opened the scoring early for Al-Ittihad with a goal assisted by Abdulrahman Al-Abood in the 10th minute, before the South African team equalized through Thalente Mbatha in the 27th minute.

In the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Al-Ittihad regained the lead with a goal signed by Moussa Diaby, assisted by player Ahmed Al-Ghamdi.

In the second half, German coach Jens Vissing fielded a lineup consisting of Mohammed Al-Absi, Mario Mitai, Stefan Keller, Mohammed Barnawi, Ahmed Al-Julaydan, Farha Al-Shamrani, Faisal Al-Ghamdi, Abdul Ilah Hawsawi, Marwan Al-Sahafi, Roger Fernandez, and George Ilenikhena, before making several substitutions by bringing on Kosim Kone, Fawaz Al-Saqour, Brent Ortega, and Matteo Borrelli in place of Faisal Al-Ghamdi, Ahmed Al-Julaydan, Farha Al-Shamrani, and Abdul Ilah Hawsawi.

Substitute George Ilenikhena managed to decide the match with the third goal in the 85th minute, assisted by player Roger Fernandez, before Orlando scored a late goal in the 90+3 minute through player Yanela Mbuthuma.

Al-Ittihad's delegation had arrived in Spain on July 14, and the camp continues until the 31st of the same month.

Al-Ittihad is scheduled to play 3 friendlies during its current camp against Spanish trio Las Palmas on July 25, and Real Mallorca in the morning and evening on July 30.
