The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has revealed the list of goals nominated for the Best Goal award at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, which concluded on Sunday.

Spain won the title for the second time in its history, after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

In a statement on its official website, FIFA asked fans to vote for the best goal among 12 goals in the tournament, which saw 308 goals scored, making it the highest-scoring World Cup in history.

FIFA explained that the voting process for selecting the best goal will extend until July 27.

The goal of Argentine star Lionel Messi against Algeria in the first round of Group 10 was among the nominees, as was Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, the tournament's top scorer with 10 goals and the all-time World Cup top scorer, for his goal against Senegal in the first round of Group 9.

The nominations also included a goal by Spain striker Ferran Torres against Argentina in the final, as well as a goal by Argentine Julián Álvarez against Switzerland in the quarter-finals.

English star Jude Bellingham was among the nominees for his goal against France in the third-place match, along with his former Dortmund teammate and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, whose goal against Brazil in the round of 16 was also on the list.

The other nominations include a goal by Bosnian Kerim Alajbegović against Qatar in the third round of Group 2, and a goal by Cape Verde player Sydney Cabral against Argentina in the round of 32.

FIFA also nominated a goal by Haiti player Wilson Isidore against Morocco in the third round of Group 3, and a goal by New Zealand striker Elijah Just against Iran.
