France's Kylian Mbappé won the top scorer title of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring 10 goals for his country, which finished fourth, two goals ahead of Argentina's Lionel Messi, who failed to find the net in the final loss to Spain (0-1 after extra time) on Sunday in New Jersey.

This is the second consecutive time Mbappé (27) wins the award, after 2022 when he scored 8 goals against 7 for the now 39-year-old Messi.
