Xavi welcomes coaching a national team

Xavi Hernandez, former Barcelona star and coach, welcomed the idea of coaching a national team in the coming period.

Since starting his coaching career in 2019 and leading Qatari club Al Sadd, then Spanish Barcelona in 2021, Xavi remains currently without a contract with any club, since leaving the Catalan club about two years ago.

Xavi said in statements on Spanish channel "Deportes": "Coaching a national team would suit me."

He added: "I have a family, and coaching a club will not give me much time to spend with my family; I have young children."

He continued: "I will say it clearly, coaching a national team would suit me, I want that, and I look forward to leading a team in the World Cup, European Championship, Africa Cup of Nations, or Asian Cup."

Regarding his prediction for the World Cup champion, before the final match between Spain and Argentina, Xavi said: "I am convinced that next Sunday we will be champions again."

Xavi participated in Spain's only World Cup title in 2010 in South Africa.
