Lamine Yamal challenges France: They should fear Spain.

Spain star Lamine Yamal confirmed that his national team does not fear facing France in the 2026 World Cup semi-final; rather, he believes that the French team is the one that should worry about Spain, recalling 'La Roja's' superiority over 'Les Bleus' in the Euro 2024 semi-final.

Although he did not score or assist in Spain's victory over Belgium, Yamal was named Man of the Match after an impressive performance on the right flank that exhausted Belgian full-back Maxim De Cuyper, who had to leave the field in the 61st minute due to fatigue, replaced by Joaquin Saez.

The Barcelona winger said after Spain's qualification to the semi-finals: 'We are very happy to reach the last four. We've spent long days here, and we want to go all the way.'

Yamal also spoke about the first goal Spain conceded in the tournament, insisting his team was the better side throughout the match, saying: 'We were far superior, and the goal we conceded came from a strange play during our best period in the match. Some may think we don't play attractive football, but the truth is no one faces us with intensity; all teams sit back, and yet we still manage to win.'

Regarding the anticipated clash against France in the semi-final, the 19-year-old player issued a clear challenge, saying: 'If France has to fear anyone, it's this team. We are the ones who eliminated them in Euro 2024. We are facing two of the best teams in the world, and for me they are the best, but we are not afraid of any team.'
