Neom club announced on Tuesday the official signing of Senegalese defender Malang Sarr on a free transfer, as part of moves to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

Earlier, sources told 'Sport 24' that Neom's management was close to completing all procedures for signing Sarr, after competition with five offers he received from European clubs, before he decided to choose the Neom project and embark on a new experience in Saudi football.

The sources added that the player's conviction in the sports project and the club's future ambitions were among the most prominent reasons that tipped the scales in Neom's favor, in a deal considered one of the biggest surprises of the summer transfer market.
