Barcelona's basketball club has officially announced the signing of American point guard Justin Robinson until June 30, 2028, in a move aimed at strengthening the point guard position after an exceptional season for the player in the EuroLeague.

The Catalan club confirmed on its official website that the 28-year-old, 1.85-meter tall player joins the Blaugrana ranks from Paris Saint-Germain, where he had a standout debut season in the EuroLeague.

Robinson said after passing his medical: 'It is a great honor to have the opportunity to play for a historic and prestigious club like Barcelona, I am very grateful and very happy,' adding: 'Playing for such a great club, in my second year in the EuroLeague, is a great honor for me and my family.'

The point guard, born in Manassas, Virginia on October 12, 1997, arrives at Palau Blaugrana to lead the attack thanks to his sharp vision, speed of execution, and ability to make decisive decisions, along with his prowess in shooting from beyond the arc and penetrating defenses.

Robinson described himself as a 'winner' and a 'leader on and off the court,' saying: 'I want to stay true to myself, be consistent, contribute offensively and defensively, and do whatever the team needs to win.'

The American player has extensive experience in multiple leagues, having played in the NBA with five different teams between 2019 and 2022, before moving abroad to play in the Australian, Italian, and French leagues.

In his last season with Paris Basketball, Robinson posted impressive averages of 14.6 points and 4.5 assists in 36 EuroLeague games, with notable performances including a 35-point game at Olympiacos, which earned him the MVP award for Round 37.

He also shone in the French League, where his team finished second, averaging 13 points and 4.1 assists in 24 games, making him the target of major European clubs.

Before moving to France, Robinson proved his high level in the Italian League with Trapani Shark, where he averaged 14.4 points and six assists, won the Player of the Month award in November, and finished the season in the league's All-First Team.
