Herbert Hainer, president of German football club Bayern Munich, believes that Jurgen Klopp 'is the right man' to get the German national team back on track after the team exited the World Cup early for the third time in a row.

It is widely expected that on Friday, the former Liverpool coach will be appointed as the technical director of the German national team, succeeding Julian Nagelsmann, who resigned after the team was eliminated in the round of 32 by Paraguay.

Despite the historic rivalry between Klopp and Bayern Munich during his time as Borussia Dortmund coach, where he led his team to win the Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 at the expense of the Bavarian club, Hainer expressed full confidence in the German coach's abilities.

Hainer told reporters on Wednesday: 'I think it's a good solution.'

He added: 'When you look at the team's performance in the last three World Cups, you realize that they now need motivation and a sense of a new beginning.'

He continued: 'We have good players, and I think Jurgen Klopp is absolutely the right man. He has achieved great success with all the clubs he has worked with, whether Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, or Liverpool.'

Hainer confirmed that Klopp (59) 'has always succeeded in winning over fans and players, taking the entire club with him at every stop, and I think he will do the same with the German national team.'

The Bayern Munich president described Klopp as 'a masterful communicator at all levels.'

The Bayern president added: 'He can convince people of his ideas, he can generate enthusiasm, and inspire the team to give more than 100 percent of their potential on the field.'

Since leaving Liverpool in May 2024, Klopp has served as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull, having announced at the time his desire to step away from coaching for a while.

Klopp is expected to sign a contract with the German Football Association that runs until the 2030 World Cup.
