France midfielder Adrien Rabiot did not hesitate to criticize his teammates after the national team's heavy defeat to England.

France lost 6-4 to England in the third-place match of the World Cup in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The midfielder, who was in the starting lineup against the English, bluntly criticized his teammates' attitude, especially in the first half when France trailed Tuchel's team 0-4, saying: 'We made a shameful start in that first half. I saw behaviors from some players that I had not witnessed before.'

He continued, according to what was reported by Marca: 'This is disappointing, because it was the last match to leave a good impression in this tournament.'

He added: 'There was great disappointment after the defeat to Spain, but we had to complete the task until the end and we could not surrender in that way.'

Rabiot revealed what happened between the France players at halftime after being four goals down, in an attempt to change the situation: 'We talked at halftime and agreed that we must show pride; things improved a lot in the second half, because the attitude we showed in the first half was unacceptable.'
