An Argentine journalist revealed that Albiceleste captain Lionel Messi made a touching human gesture toward Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha and his family before the 2026 World Cup final.

After a marathon journey in the World Cup during the knockout stages, the Argentine team failed to win the World Cup title as Spain defeated Messi's teammates 1-0 last Sunday, earning their second star.

According to Argentine journalist Yanina Latorre, Messi personally ensured free tickets for a number of people who could not afford to attend the final match, giving them the opportunity to watch the event from the stands.

She added that the initiative also included four members of Vozinha's family, as Messi directed his representatives to secure free tickets for them to attend the final.

Messi gave tickets to people who couldn't afford them, including to the family of Cape Verde goalkeeper Josimar Vozinha.

Messi had faced Vozinha in the round of 32 of the tournament, when he led Argentina to a 3-2 victory over Cape Verde in a match where the veteran goalkeeper stood out with remarkable saves that nearly prevented the world champions from advancing.
