The Belgian national team reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating the United States 4-1 in their Round of 16 match yesterday.

Belgium dominated the match and turned their superiority into four goals, capitalizing on their attacking efficiency and conversion of chances, while the US managed only one goal, which was not enough to change the outcome or get back into the game.

Belgium opened the scoring early through Charles De Ketelaere in the 9th minute, before the US equalized via Malik Tillman in the 31st minute. Belgium did not wait long to regain the lead, as De Ketelaere scored his second personal goal and Belgium's second in the 33rd minute.

In the second half, Hans Vanaken extended the lead with the third goal in the 57th minute, before Romelu Lukaku completed Belgium's four-goal tally with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+3rd minute.

With this victory, Belgium continued their World Cup journey, booking a place in the quarter-finals, where they await Spain, who advanced after beating Portugal 1-0.
