Bellingham Leads England into World Cup Semifinals
Jude Bellingham, star of the England national football team, led the Three Lions to the 2026 World Cup semifinals after scoring two goals, overturning a deficit against Norway to a 2-1 victory after extra time in the quarterfinal match held in Miami on Sunday. England reached the last four for the fourth time in their World Cup history. Norway opened the scoring through Andreas Schjelderup (36'), and England responded with two goals by Bellingham, the first in the second minute of first-half stoppage time and the second three minutes into the first extra-time period. Bellingham raised his tally to six goals in the current edition, his second consecutive brace after one against Mexico (3-2) in the round of 16, and at 23 years and 12 days, he became the second youngest player to score two or more goals in two consecutive knockout matches at the World Cup, after Brazilian legend Pelé in 1958 (17 years and 249 days). England will face Argentina (defending champions) or Switzerland in the semifinal on Wednesday in Atlanta.
