Al-Nassr's management has agreed with its Portuguese counterpart Benfica to loan Colombian Jhon Durán, the first-team striker, for the upcoming season, according to exclusive sources for Al Riyadh. Al-Nassr will bear about $2 million of the player's annual salary, while Benfica will pay the remainder of his dues, amounting to about $10 million. The same sources stated that the agreement includes a buy option worth more than €30 million, in addition to Al-Nassr receiving a percentage of any future transfer of the player if the Portuguese club activates the buy clause and later sells him. Exclusive sources revealed to Al Riyadh on Thursday evening a meeting that brought together Portuguese José Simedo, CEO of Al-Nassr, and the Colombian striker, in the presence of his agent, where he was informed of the approval for his travel, with a week's deadline to negotiate with some European clubs, and that he would join the yellow team's camp in Portugal if his fate is not decided within the deadline. In principle, the two parties, the club's management and the striker, agreed that the latter would leave Al-Nassr during the current summer transfer window. The Saudi club loaned Durán to Turkish Fenerbahçe and Russian Zenit last season after signing him from English Aston Villa in early 2025. With Al-Nassr's shirt, Durán played 18 matches and scored 12 goals, and his contract extends until summer 2030.
