Braga Tournament: Saudi Boxing Team Wins 17 Medals
The Saudi national boxing team concluded its participation in the 2026 Braga Open Boxing Tournament, held in Portugal, achieving 17 medals, a new achievement added to the record of local boxing achievements, and reflecting the continuous development witnessed in the sport at both technical and competitive levels. The tournament recorded, for the first time in the history of the Saudi Boxing Federation, achieving international gold medals, in addition to recording the largest medal haul in a single international tournament, after the 'Green' team garnered 17 medals. The tournament witnessed strong competition with the participation of 129 national teams and clubs from various countries of the world, and the Saudi national team players presented high technical levels, resulting in the achievement of seven gold medals, 10 silver medals, and a bronze medal. The gold medals came through Nawaf Al-Enezi, Abdulrahman Al-Humaidan, Fares Al-Maliki, Firas Al-Subhi, Nawaf Awaji, Abdulrahman Sadiq, and Reffal Al-Muhaysen, while the silver medals were achieved by Anas Al-Madani, Ali Al-Awa, Nawaf Al-Juhani, Badr Al-Hudhali, and Dana Al-Enezi. As for the bronze medals, they were won by Ismail Al-Qasimi, Abdullah Darkazli, Mubarak Al-Sayhi, Ayham Al-Humaidan, and Ahmed Hanbas. This participation comes within the efforts of the Saudi Boxing Federation to prepare and develop the national team across various age groups, through participation in international tournaments and interaction with the world's leading schools, which contributes to improving technical performance, gaining more experience, and enhancing Saudi Arabia's presence in various continental and international forums. The Braga Open Boxing Tournament is considered one of the most prominent international tournaments, as it is organized this year in its ninth edition, and witnesses broad participation from national teams and clubs from various countries of the world, making it an important station to raise players' readiness, gain experience, and enhance competition levels before upcoming international engagements.
