CNN Brasil revealed on Monday that Corinthians wants to bring back Brazilian Wesley Gasova Teixeira, current Al-Nassr player, relying on the player's desire to return to his former club. Wesley contacted the team's coach Fernando Diniz, expressing his wish to return to the club where he grew up in the youth categories. Meanwhile, Cruzeiro's interest in the player froze after learning that he prefers to move to Corinthians this summer. The club awaits the lifting of the registration ban by FIFA, related to the payment of amounts owed to Philadelphia Union. Diniz confirmed in a press conference on Sunday that he has no objection to signing Wesley, saying: 'We aim to sign good players like Wesley, who considers this club his home. He has good qualities that I like, and he has the desire to return. If the deal progresses, he will be a good reinforcement for us.' It is worth noting that Wesley joined Al-Nassr from Corinthians for 18 million euros, played 21 matches in his first season 2024-2025, scoring one goal and providing two assists. In the following season, he played 18 matches before being loaned to Spanish Real Sociedad in January, where he played 91 minutes in five La Liga matches.

Brazilian clubs are seeking to strengthen their squads before the start of the domestic league on June 24.

Wesley (24) has been going through an unstable period since his move to Al-Nassr and then his loan to Real Sociedad, and his return to Corinthians could bring him stability. However, the success of the deal depends on the lifting of the transfer ban that prevents the club from registering new players. Corinthians seeks to compensate for the absence of some stars and rebuild the team under Diniz's leadership.
