Coinciding with World Cup Final, Mbappe Sparks Controversy with a Controversial Move
French star Kylian Mbappe ignited social media with a controversial move, coinciding with the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain.
According to 'Sport' newspaper, Mbappe quickly deleted a photo he accidentally posted of Spanish actress Esther Esposito, who was wearing the Roosters' shirt, just seconds after posting it, as revealed by journalist Javi Hoyos.
After the French national team's journey in the 2026 World Cup ended with a fourth-place finish, Mbappe decided to step away a bit from the competitive atmosphere and spend some time with those close to him.
'Sport' noted that Mbappe went to rest, accompanied by his officially unannounced partner, Esther Esposito, and there he made the mistake that set social media ablaze.
Mbappe posted on his account a photo of himself with the Spanish actress, who was wearing the French national team jersey and bearing his number, before quickly deleting it. However, some followers had managed to take a screenshot before the post was removed.
The photo appeared on Mbappe's account for only 27 seconds, but it was enough to confirm his relationship with Esther Esposito, even though the couple had not officially announced their relationship before.
Their appearance together on the streets of Madrid, holding hands, had fueled rumors in the past period.
Journalist Javi Hoyos revealed the details of what happened via his Instagram account, saying: 'Mbappe posted a photo of Esther wearing the France national team shirt. It was surprising; the photo remained posted for only a few seconds, but someone sent it to me in a private message.'
He added: 'Perhaps the photo was intended for close friends only, but he accidentally posted it publicly. It is the first photo he has shared of her, and it was a fun and amusing photo bearing Mbappe's number on the jersey.'
