Colombia completed the list of qualifiers for the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, after defeating Ghana 1-0 in Kansas City, at the conclusion of the round of 32.

Juan Arias, midfielder for Brazilian club Palmeiras, scored the only goal of the match in the 14th minute from close range, benefiting from a cross by Luis Suárez, who came on as a substitute for the injured John Córdoba.

Luis Díaz thought he doubled Colombia's lead in the 56th minute, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside.

The Colombian team imposed its control over most of the match, while Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi kept his team in the game with three outstanding saves.

With this win, Colombia became the last team to qualify for the round of 16, and will face Switzerland next Tuesday in Vancouver, after the Swiss team defeated Algeria 2-0.
