Damac Club witnessed a state of administrative controversy after the issuance of two consecutive decisions within only 11 days regarding the position of executive director of football, a step that raised many question marks within the club's corridors.

At the beginning of this July, Damac Club announced the appointment of its former president Saleh Abu Nakh as executive director of football, as part of the club's preparations for the next season in the First Division Yellow League, following the team's relegation from the Saudi Roshn Professional League.

Abu Nakh is considered the historic president of Damac Club, after he led the club during his presidency to achieve the historic achievement of promotion to the Professional League for the first time in 2018, before the club continued its presence and achieved fifth place in the Roshn League in the 2021-2022 season, then left his position in 2022.

After the new board of directors, chaired by Shaker Saeed bin Owair, officially assumed its duties on July 10, the club later announced the assignment of Sultan Mijrashi to the position of executive director of football, despite the announcement of Abu Nakh's appointment to the same position days earlier, leaving the club facing two different decisions for the same position in a period not exceeding 11 days.

Sources confirmed to Al-Jazeera that Saleh Abu Nakh has not yet been informed of any decision regarding the termination of his assignment or his replacement, and he still considers himself the executive director of football, in the absence of any official notification regarding the new decision.

The sources added that the assignment of Sultan Mijrashi, who is not full-time, could reflect financially on the club, as it would cause a loss of 2.5 million riyals from governance entitlements that amount to 10 million riyals when all criteria are met, including the existence of a full-time executive director of football, a condition that applied to Saleh Abu Nakh according to the sources.

These developments open the door to questions about the decision-making mechanism within the club, and the clarity of the administrative structure, especially with the issuance of two consecutive decisions for the same position within a short period, and the resulting organizational and financial implications.
