(CNN) -- Spain national team star Lamine Yamal sparked interaction with his way of greeting the King of Spain, King Felipe VI, during the reception of the 'La Roja' delegation after their return from America crowned with the World Cup title.

The King, his wife, and his two daughters received the national team players after their return to Spain, and the King shook hands with the players one by one.

When Yamal reached the King to shake hands, the King shook his hand and pulled him towards him to hug him in a moment that was said to have witnessed a "protocol breach."

Yamal contributed to his country's team winning the World Cup for the second time in its history after scoring a goal in the tournament and delivering an outstanding collective performance.
