Egyptian Al Ahly faces Barcelona in a friendly at Camp Nou

The Egyptian Al Ahly football club officially announced that the first team will face Barcelona in a friendly on August 19 at Camp Nou as part of the Joan Gamper Trophy competition.

Al Ahly said via its official website on Friday that a delegation including Ahmed Hossam Awad, a member of the club's board of directors and the company, and Nera Ali, the company's executive director, made a brief visit to Spain.

It added that during the visit, an agreement was reached with the historic Barcelona club to hold a football match between the two clubs on August 19, as part of the 61st edition of "La Festa del Gamper Estrella Damm" (Joan Gamper Trophy celebration sponsored by Estrella Damm).

It stated: "The delegation discussed with Barcelona officials all arrangements for the match, in a friendly atmosphere reflecting the good relationship between the two clubs."

This step comes as part of the efforts of Al Ahly Football Company to enhance the club's global presence and open new horizons for cooperation with the largest sports clubs and institutions in Europe.
