Italian club Fiorentina announced on Thursday that it has signed Spanish right-back Alex Jimenez from English club Bournemouth on a one-season loan, with the club retaining an option to permanently purchase the player at the end of the loan period.

Fiorentina clarified in an official statement that the deal was structured as a loan with an option to buy, without disclosing financial details, while Italian and British media reports indicated that the buyout clause is close to 20 million euros.
