The Saudi League has refused to include a player from the Morocco national team during the current summer transfer window, for a strange reason.

Media reports had confirmed that Qatari club Al-Shamal succeeded in signing Moroccan Mohamed Rabie Hrimat, midfielder of Royal Army, during the ongoing summer transfer period.

Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported that Hrimat was close to moving to the Saudi League, specifically to Al-Ettifaq, but a strange reason prevented the deal.

The newspaper explained that the recruitment committee of the Saudi League Association was the one that blocked the deal, after insisting on valuing the player at only $1.5 million.

Due to this valuation, Al-Ettifaq failed to secure the services of the 32-year-old, who then moved to Al-Shamal Qatar for approximately $2.5 million.

Many clubs have expressed complaints about the intervention of the recruitment committee in valuating player prices, which has disrupted several deals in the past period.

Hrimat was one of the most prominent players of the Morocco national team in the 2025 Arab Cup held in Qatar, which the Atlas Lions won, and he even won the Best Player award in the tournament.
