Charles Leclerc, Ferrari driver from Monaco, achieved his first win this season in the Formula 1 World Championship series, after taking first place in the British Grand Prix on Sunday at Silverstone Circuit.
The race took place in front of a record crowd of 175,000 spectators, with expectations that Italian Kimi Antonelli, who dominated practice throughout the weekend, would secure a comfortable victory, especially having started from pole position.
However, a problem with Antonelli's (19) car, the championship leader, forced him to slow down 11 laps from the end, allowing several drivers to overtake him, and he finished the race in 16th place.
Leclerc sealed the race ahead of Briton George Russell (Mercedes) and his compatriot Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari), while defending champion Lando Norris (McLaren) finished fourth, ahead of Franco-Algerian Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) who finished fifth.
This victory is a significant achievement after a difficult year Leclerc and Ferrari endured in 2025, and it is his first British Grand Prix win and his first since the United States Grand Prix in 2024.
With this result, George Russell increased his points total to 154 to move into second place in the standings, reducing the gap to Antonelli to 25 points after nine rounds, while Lewis Hamilton stands third with 147 points.
