Deschamps breaks a legendary record.. and Yamal enters the list of immortals

In a few minutes, the highly anticipated summit between France and Spain kicks off at the Dallas Stadium in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

France seeks to achieve victory and advance to the final for the third consecutive time, after winning the title in the 2018 edition and losing the 2022 final to Argentina on penalties.

As for Spain, they hope to return to the final for the first time since winning their only title in the tournament in the 2010 edition in South Africa.

Didier Deschamps, France coach, will make history today as he prepares to play his 26th World Cup match, becoming the coach with the most matches in World Cup history, surpassing the previous record of Helmut Schön with 25 matches.

The exceptional records will not be limited to the French team alone; Spain also has its share through its young star Lamine Yamal.

Yamal's participation today at the age of 19 years and one day will make him the third youngest player to play a World Cup semi-final match in history, behind Brazilian football legend Pelé (17 years and 8 months) and Giuseppe Bergomi (18 years and 6 months).
