In Second Appearance, Saudi Youth Handball Team Defeats Bahrain
The Saudi youth handball team defeated its Bahraini counterpart 26-30 on Thursday in the second match of the 19th Asian Championship, after also winning the first match against the Omani team. Salman Al-Muaini, goalkeeper of 'Al-Akhdar', was named player of the match, as announced by the official handball federation account on social media platform 'X'. The Saudi team plays in Group 1 alongside Oman, Bahrain, Chinese Taipei, China, and Hong Kong. The list of Milan Guillermo, coach of the Saudi national team, includes 22 players: Abdullah Al-Saadoun, Zakaria Taha, Mohannad Al-Saihati, Haidar Al-Daasari, Mohammed Al-Qaid, Abdullah Al-Marhoon, Hussein Al-Hamdan, Ahmed Al-Obaidi, Ali Al-Sani, Mohammed Al-Saihati, Hassan Al-Saffar, Salman Al-Muaini, Hisham Yasser, Badr Al-Qarni, Amjad Bidi, Ahmed Al-Obaidi, Youssef Omar, Qasim Al-Khuwailidi, Fadhel Al-Ramadan, Osama Al-Rabee, Abbas Al-Awazem, and Mukhtar Al-Abdulwahab. The Chinese city of Chuzhou is hosting the championship from July 15 to 27. The tournament serves as a qualifier for the World Youth Championship scheduled to be held in North Macedonia in 2027.
