An opinion poll conducted by Spanish newspaper Marca has revealed a clear preference for the Spanish national team among fans worldwide, ahead of the World Cup final against Argentina scheduled for Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with most participants leaning toward supporting 'La Roja' in the highly anticipated match.

More than 20,000 people participated in the survey, and each participant was asked to specify the continent they belong to before choosing which team they support in the final.

The newspaper stated that it verified users' IP addresses to confirm their geographic affiliation, which—according to Marca—clarified voting trends across different continents, while noting that the newspaper being Spanish might affect the survey results and limit its full representation of public opinion.

The results showed Spain leading in all continents, receiving 72% of the votes in North America compared to 28% for Argentina, and 59% in South America versus 41%.

The percentage increased in Asia to 82% against 18%, and in Africa to 88% against 12%. Spain also obtained 53% of the votes in Europe compared to 47% for Argentina, and in Oceania 86% versus 14% for the Tango dancers.

Spain had eliminated France in the semifinals, beating them 2-0, while Argentina edged out England 2-1 in dramatic fashion in the same round.
