Spanish Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, revealed the national teams he will support during the 2026 World Cup finals, stressing that he does not support a specific team as much as he supports the players for whom he has a special affection.

Guardiola said in an interview with the OKX website: 'In the World Cup, I will choose the players I love. I do not support one team, but I always support teams that include players I love and have played with, and I will be happy to cheer for them.'

The Catalan coach affirmed: 'If Argentina wins the World Cup title, there are players I know, and the same applies to France. As for Portugal, they have players whose harmony I admire.'

Pep added that he will follow three teams in particular during the tournament: Argentina, France, and Portugal, considering that they include names he has been associated with during his career.

Regarding the chances of his country's team, Guardiola spoke about Spain's opportunity to win the title on July 19, emphasizing that the key lies in individual talent within the collective system.

Guardiola clarified that Spain has a special young generation led by Pedri and Lamine Yamal, but he set an essential condition for winning the title: Rodri's readiness. He said: 'If Rodri can establish himself in midfield alongside Pedri and Lamine, and if he is in his best form, Spain can make a difference.'
