Vozinha, Cape Verde goalkeeper, and Erling Haaland, Norway striker, were selected in the FIFA World Cup 2026 ideal team by public vote, rewarding them for their outstanding performances during a campaign that exceeded expectations for their respective teams.

Vozinha topped the goalkeepers' vote with 39.6 percent after a series of impressive displays for Cape Verde, who participated in the finals for the first time, securing his place in the team despite Spaniard Unai Simón winning the Golden Glove award, which is selected by a FIFA technical group.

Vozinha (40), who entered the tournament as a free agent after leaving Chaves in the Portuguese second division, made seven saves in a goalless draw for Cape Verde against Spain, who later won the tournament.

He helped his team take Argentina, who later reached the final, to extra time before losing in the round of 32. Haaland received 27.5 percent of the forwards' vote after leading Norway to the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time in their history.

The Manchester City striker scored seven goals in five matches, including a brace in Norway's 2-1 victory over five-time world champion Brazil in the round of 16, before their tournament ended against England.

The duo appears in the team alongside stars such as Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Jude Bellingham.

The ideal team included: goalkeeper Vozinha (Cape Verde); defenders Pedro Porro (Spain), Lisandro Martínez (Argentina), Dayot Upamecano (France), Marc Cucurella (Spain).

Midfielders: Rodri (Spain), Michael Olise (France), Jude Bellingham (England); forwards: Lionel Messi (Argentina), Haaland (Norway), Kylian Mbappé (France).
