Haytham Hassan, the Egyptian national team player, confirmed that his ambitions with the 'Pharaohs' have no limits, stressing that the current generation has the ability to achieve great accomplishments in the coming period, following the team's remarkable performance in the World Cup.
Haytham Hassan had participated with the Egyptian national team in the last World Cup finals, from which the Pharaohs were eliminated in the round of 16 by Argentina (2-3), in a match that witnessed many controversial refereeing situations, as many reports indicated strong favors from the Swiss Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

In statements on the program 'Al-Hekaya' with journalist Amr Adib, Haytham Hassan said: 'Yes, I want to achieve everything with the Egyptian national team. Dreams cost nothing, and we can achieve everything. We have big ambitions and always strive for victory.'
He added: 'The Egyptian national team is the strongest team in Africa, and we have the best players, in addition to a distinguished generation and a wonderful technical staff. We were a cohesive and strong team, close to each other on and off the field, and we showed that during the World Cup.'
He continued: 'We have young players at the highest level, and they are the future of the Egyptian national team. They can achieve a lot in the coming years.'
Behind the scenes of his joining the Egyptian national team
Haytham Hassan talked about the behind-the-scenes of his selection to represent the Egyptian national team, explaining that Wessam Ahmed played a major role in following him and communicating with him during the past period.
He said: 'Wessam Ahmed had been in contact with me for a long time, and he followed me in all stages. He facilitated the communication process with the technical staff and officials so that I could join the Egyptian national team.'

The player explained that some procedures delayed his appearance with the team at the beginning of the World Cup, saying: 'There was a problem with some papers that the International Federation needed to verify, but the technical and administrative staff did a great and quick job so that I could participate in the rest of the tournament matches.'

Haytham Hassan expressed his great happiness in representing the Egyptian national team, stressing that playing alongside Mohamed Salah is a great pride for him, and that he hopes to follow in his footsteps and achieve what he has accomplished with the team.
He said: 'I am very proud to play with Mohamed Salah. He is a great player and a symbol of Egyptian football. I hope to repeat what he did with the Egyptian national team and achieve great achievements wearing the Pharaohs shirt.'
He added that the presence of experienced players like Salah helps the new generation develop and gain more experience on and off the field.
The goal against Argentina would have become the talk of the world
Haytham Hassan touched on the goal that the Egyptian national team scored against Argentina in the World Cup and was disallowed, stressing that it was one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament from his point of view.
He said: 'We scored a goal that I consider one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament, and perhaps among the best World Cup goals in history. I felt sad because it wasn't counted, and I didn't see any foul against us.'
He added: 'If Argentina had scored the goal, I think it would not have been disallowed.'
Haytham Hassan concluded his statements by emphasizing his happiness in representing the Egyptian national team, stressing that the players have the desire to continue developing and achieving more successes in the coming years.
