Scottish defender Jack Hendry, of Al-Ettifaq first football team, joined the ongoing preparatory camp in Spain on Friday, according to the official account of the eastern club on social media platform X. Al-Ettifaq's account posted two photos of players welcoming the Scottish defender, writing: 'Welcome Jack to the knights' training.' Hendry officially signed a contract renewal with the eastern club on Thursday evening. Al-Ettifaq signed Hendry in the summer of 2023, arriving from Belgian side Club Brugge on a three-season contract, based on the recommendation of former English coach Steven Gerrard. During his spell with Al-Ettifaq, Hendry played 83 matches in all competitions, scoring one goal. Internationally, the Scottish defender was part of his country's national team squad that exited the first round of the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, having started against Haiti (1-0), Morocco (0-1), and Brazil (0-3) in Group C.
