Spain's national team was crowned champion of the 2026 World Cup deservedly, adding the second World Cup title to its history, while at the same time making new history by receiving the largest prize ever awarded to a World Cup winner.

Spain received the first-place prize of more than $50 million, allocated by FIFA for the champion, making it the largest prize awarded to a winner in World Cup history.

The International Federation of Association Football allocated a historic and record budget totaling $871 million to cover payments and prizes for the 48 participating teams in the 2026 World Cup. This figure represents a massive increase of 15% compared to the 2022 Qatar edition, making it the largest financial distribution in World Cup history.

In contrast, runner-up Argentina received $33 million, while England earned between $29 and $30 million as the third-place prize, and France received between $27 and $28 million as the fourth-place prize.

Spain broke the record for the World Cup champion's prize, previously held by the Argentine national team when it received $42 million as the prize for the 2022 edition.

This $50 million prize is only the value of the World Cup winner's award, but Spain also received other amounts like other teams. It received $10 million as a bonus for qualifying and participating in the group stage, plus $2.5 million to cover preparation, training, and travel expenses before the tournament, bringing Spain's total earnings to over $63.5 million.
