(CNN)-- The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) recently announced that it will award special rings to the members of the winning team of the 2026 World Cup, in recognition of their achievement.

Each ring is set to be engraved with the World Cup trophy and the tournament logo, along with full customization reflecting the identity and history of the team that will win the title.

FIFA said in a statement: "Each ring will be part of an extremely limited edition comprising 2026 individually numbered pieces, and among these pieces, 30 rings will be presented to the winning team, while 1996 rings will be made available to fans around the world as an officially licensed product, allowing fans to own a unique piece of World Cup history."

It added: "Immediately after the final match, each of the winning team and its coach will receive temporary commemorative rings to celebrate the title win, but the two rings will be replaced later along with the awarding of the other rings to the rest of the team members, to ensure a perfect lifetime fit for an achievement that will resonate through time."

The International Federation explained that "this step is the first of its kind, bringing the famous American sports tradition to world football."

Spain will meet Argentina in the final match, at MetLife Stadium, next Sunday.
