Infantino sends fiery message to Egypt after World Cup achievement
Swiss Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), spoke about the Egyptian national team's journey in the 2026 World Cup, which witnessed many exceptional and sad moments at the same time.
The Egyptian national team succeeded in advancing past the group stage for the first time in its history, drawing with Belgium and Iran, and defeating New Zealand, which was the first victory in the history of the 'Pharaohs' in the World Cup.
The journey did not stop there; the Egyptian team managed to eliminate Australia in the round of 32 on penalties, before falling to Argentina in the round of 16 with a score of (2-3), in a match that sparked controversy over the refereeing performance and accusations that the FIFA president favored 'La Albiceleste'.

He concluded: 'Your journey was inspiring to your fans at home and around the world, and the memories you created this summer will remain etched in the minds of Egyptian football fans worldwide.'
