Inspiring message and two photos.. Hakimi breaks silence after Moroccan shock
Achraf Hakimi, captain of the Moroccan national team, commented on the Atlas Lions' elimination from the 2026 World Cup.
Morocco bid farewell to the World Cup after a 0-2 loss to France in the quarter-finals.
Hakimi posted two photos on his official Instagram account: the first of himself after the match against France, and the second a team photo of the Moroccan squad.
The Paris Saint-Germain star wrote, 'Great nations are not defined by a single defeat, but by everything they build throughout history.'
He continued, 'Morocco continues to write its history, and the best is yet to come.. God, Homeland, King.'
Morocco had hoped to go far in the 2026 World Cup, after its achievement in the 2022 edition when it finished fourth, the best Arab and African performance in World Cup history.
