Ipswich Town, newly promoted to the English Premier League, announced on Tuesday the signing of Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku from Leicester City on a five-year contract, without disclosing the financial details of the deal.

Issahaku, 22, has international experience with the Ghana national team, having been part of their squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He also played in all four of the team's matches during the 2026 World Cup finals held in North America, and has made a total of 32 international appearances, scoring three goals.

The player joined Leicester City on loan from Sporting during the 2023-2024 season and played a prominent role in the team's Championship title win, also earning the club's Young Player of the Year award.

In the 2024-2025 season, Issahaku made 11 Premier League appearances before injuries hampered him. He then scored nine goals in 44 Championship matches last season, which saw Leicester City relegated to League One.

Ipswich Town will begin their Premier League campaign against Sunderland on August 22, after returning to the top flight following a single season in the Championship.
