Lille to Decide on Moroccan Bouaddi's Future Amid Manchester City Interest
Young Moroccan international Ayyoub Bouaddi has a strong chance of staying with Lille, after a successful first season in Ligue 1 and a brilliant start to the 2026 World Cup with the 'Atlas Lions', according to club president Olivier Létang on Thursday.
The 18-year-old midfielder is attracting interest from several major European clubs.

Létang explained during a press conference at Lille's headquarters that he has not yet opened the door for Bouaddi's departure, who extended his contract with the club in December until 2029. The Lille president said, 'I refused any discussion with clubs capable of paying the transfer fee.' He added, 'I met with Ayyoub after the World Cup. Everything is still possible, but I think it is best for him to stay with us for another season.'
Regarding Algerian international midfielder Nabil Bentaleb (31), born in Lille and whose contract ended last June, Létang stated that he is 'still in talks' with him to extend his stay in the north.
He added, 'We spoke two days ago (Tuesday), and we expect to get a response very soon.'
