One of the players linked with a move to Manchester United has passed the medical, ahead of the official announcement of the deal.

Fabrizio Romano, transfer expert, wrote on his X account: "Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans has completed the medical and will sign for Manchester United today."

He added: "Tielemans' contract with the Red Devils will be valid until June 2031, for five years.. The deal is done and sealed."

Romano had previously stated that Manchester United activated the release clause in Youri Tielemans' contract with Aston Villa, amounting to €41 million, and reached a verbal agreement with the Belgian midfielder.

Tielemans is 29 years old and was under contract with Aston Villa until the summer of 2028, having joined the Villans in the summer of 2023 from Leicester City.
